Which board should you rent?
We know that choosing a board can be complicated. That’s why, below we tell you what kind of boards we have and for whom and for what occasion they are suitable. Anyway, if you still have doubts, remember that we are here to advise you throughout the process.
These are some of the tables we have available for you:
Longboard
They are large in size and have a rounded tip. They are also known as “plank” because their design is inspired by Hawaiian logs. This design is the right one to master small or medium waves and feel comfortable on the board if you have a beginner or intermediate level.
If the surfer is a very experienced surfer he/she will find no problem to master the big waves as well.
Some maneuvers can only be performed with this board, such as the Hang Five, the Hang Ten or the Drop Knee.
Mini Malibu
It is similar to the Longboard as its tip is round and it is also a good sized board. However, it is a bit smaller which makes it more maneuverable than its big sister.
Its large size makes it the ideal choice for beginners in water sports. Experienced surfers can also use it, however, its use is recommended for small waves with little force.
Evolution
It is the most recommended for beginners in surfing. Its size and thickness are slightly smaller than the Malibu, its measurements allow for greater buoyancy and stability. Its tip is slightly rounded which makes it easier to paddle on the waves.
Its easy maneuverability on the waves make it a great attraction for intermediate surfers.
Shortboard
It is a versatile board with an evolved design. It is generally used by experienced athletes who know how to take advantage of its features and get the most out of it. Shortboards can overcome all wave conditions. On the other hand, its speed and maneuverability levels are also excellent.
Fishboard
It is thicker than the Short, which makes paddling easier and more maneuverable. Its design is wide, not very long, with little curve, with swallow tail, it is similar to the retro boards.
However, it is recommended for surfing in small and medium waves of little force because it slides very well. For surfing in big or hollow waves its performance is not very good.

How to distinguish a good board? What characteristics to look for?
If you rent equipment you must take into account certain fundamental aspects before making your choice. For example, you must take into account your weight in order to choose the most convenient board size for you.
Your level of skill on it is also important because there are models suitable for beginners and advanced riders. You should also take into account the type of sport you are going to practice because there are boards designed for different purposes.
In addition to these personal aspects, there are also some more basic aspects such as the following:
Flexibility level
All are manufactured with a certain degree of flexibility under stress. However, there are three levels of flex, soft, medium and hard. The softer ones tend to have less impact on the water, while the medium flex ones are considered all-terrain. The latter provide a comfortable ride and are very good for jumping.
As for the hard flex, with them comfort is sacrificed a little, but the pop is increased. With them you get the maximum pop possible in the jumps, that is why they are usually used by advanced athletes.
Size and width
Longer boards can mean more stability in the water so they are ideal for beginners. Smaller boards offer better maneuverability in turns at the sacrifice of buoyancy.
Width also plays an important role. With the wider ones you can get better pop and optimize upwind performance. However, when going with a lot of power they can be more difficult to maneuver than those that are narrower.
The Rocker
This term is applied to the curve that the board has between its ends. Those that are very curved may offer better cornering performance. However, those with a smaller rocker tend to be faster. Because they are flatter, their upwind performance is better.
The Channels
are located at the bottom and their arrangement can be very wide and varied. Their contribution on the table has a great influence on the navigation properties.
The fins
are the ones that allow you to have more grip in the water. They come in various sizes, some are already integrated while others can be placed only when necessary.
Large fins are perfect for more grip. However, small fins are appropriate for turning and maneuvering the board.
