I am traveling alone, are there other people like me?
The vast majority of our clients travel alone. Here you will meet many people and make friends in a perfect environment, surrounded by people who enjoy nature, sports and good vibes. You will feel accompanied as soon as you set foot on Famara.
How do you know what your surfing level is to choose which course to sign up for?
Our recommendation: Take your time and don’t want to rush, always remember that a good foundation is the key to any evolution and that you surf to enjoy.
Beginners: any student who wants to start surfing from scratch, with no previous experience.
Initiation with knowledge or intermediate: focused for all those who have already had some contact with this sport or received some lessons in any other school, our instructors will separate the groups depending on the experience and constancy of each student surfing.
High Intermediate and Advanced Level: Focused for all those who have already consolidated surfing in their lives and surf with medium to high consistency, control the paddling well enough to reach the break and catch waves on their own, and know how to catch waves in both directions with epoxy or fiber boards.
What will you learn in the beginner level surf courses?
– Safety in this environment as respectful as the sea, how to enter the water and how to protect yourself in every fall.
– Correct positioning on the board for paddling.
– Take your first foams with the help of the instructors.
– Surf the foams lying on the board and know how to go left and right.
– Stand up on the board in three simple and effective ways to get surfing easily.
Objective of the 4-hour beginner’s course: You will finish the day’s lesson knowing how to paddle and catch the foamy waves on your own, standing up and feeling the addictive thrill of surfing.
What will you learn in the intermediate level courses?
-We will reinforce and expand safety every day (How to enter the water, how to protect yourself in falls, the currents on this beach, leash supervision, keeping distance between other surfers, knowing how to enter the lineup without getting in the way of other surfers).
– We will continue surfing with cork boards and will try to reduce the size and volume of the board according to the experience and progress of each one.
– We will reinforce and correct your paddling, which is key to become independent
– A more effective and faster standing according to your level of progress.
– You will start catching the foamy waves on your own (always with the instructors in the water close to you).
– We will correct your posture on the board for a perfect balance and to be able to advance in the foam with greater fluidity to the shore.
– You will manage to catch the foam of the waves to the right and left and once you control it we will use the maximum difficulty method with your hands back, you will control the changes of directions helping you with your hips and shoulders.
– You will learn how to brake sharply to finish the wave or avoid any accident.
– Accelerate in a very easy way with which you will achieve greater speed.
– We will teach you how to go over the foam and how to do the spoon to reach the breaker (lineup).
– Depending on your knowledge, skills and sea conditions of each day, you can reach the breaker always accompanied by the monitor to start catching the first waves before breaking (the so-called green waves) every day getting more confident and learning to take the right direction of the wave.
Objective of this course: That you learn to surf in a totally safe way, you will learn a lot of useful things and always according to the level of each student, you must think that in the beginner level we must be very demanding for a long time, the most important thing is the constancy of practice before moving to the intermediate level with boards of hard material.

What facilities do we have?
We have modern facilities a few steps from the beach, including the Surf School, Surf Camp, accommodations such as Surf House and Surf Hostel, as well as a surf store with the best products. In addition, our Surf School has a 200-meter gym.
Do we offer transportation from the airport?
Yes, but there is an additional cost. 40 per way to or from the airport.
What will you learn in our upper intermediate and advanced surf course or lessons?
– We will strengthen security.

Who are the surf lessons for?
Surf lessons for everyone, regardless of age or level: for children, families, couples, adults, groups, private lessons, surf camps, technical surfing for advanced profiles, coaching and video corrections. You can also enjoy other water sports for a complete experience. From 8 years old, you set the limit.
Does it include equipment?
All the necessary equipment for surf lessons is included. We have high quality equipment, renewed annually to offer the best surfing experience. Our wetsuits are from the best brands in the market, and we have a variety of boards, from softboards for beginners to fiber and epoxy boards for advanced levels. We also offer rental and sale of surf equipment in our store.
What do you need to bring?
You just need to come with a desire to have fun and good energy. We take care of everything else for you to enjoy a unique experience.
We also recommend you to bring sunscreen, zinc cream for sensitive areas such as nose, lips and cheeks, sunglasses, beach towel, swimsuit to wear under the wetsuit and some warm clothes for the nights in Lanzarote.
What is our schedule? When do we have classes?
We have surf lessons every day of the year. This is due to the wonderful conditions in Famara, Lanzarote, which allows us to enjoy waves all year round. We have waves for all levels during the four seasons (spring, summer, autumn and winter). Every month of the year the conditions are perfect for beginners who want to learn how to surf. Intermediate and advanced surfers will enjoy especially during the fall and winter.
Why come to Famara, Lanzarote?
We are in a protected nature reserve with a sandy beach almost 6 km long and just a few steps away from our three surf houses and our school. With waves for all levels during all four seasons. On other islands, for example Fuerteventura, the surf spots are usually an hour’s drive from the residential areas.
Where are we?
Our school is located at Av. el Marinero, 13-A, Caleta de Famara, Lanzarote. Located on one of the most consistent beaches in the Canary Islands, this spectacular natural environment is ideal for learning and perfecting surfing. A short distance from the main tourist centers of the island, we offer a complete experience for surfers of all levels.
I am a girl and I travel alone, is surfing for me?
Of course! More and more girls are joining surfing, and in our camps the female participation is almost equal to the male or even more girls. In addition, in the surf house we have private rooms for one or two people, and we guarantee that, if you travel alone, you will make new friends quickly, since you will share classes and activities with people with similar interests.
How many hours will I spend in the water per day?
Each day includes 4 hours of class (10.00h to 12.00h and 12.30 to 14.30h) divided into two sessions of 2 hours each, with a break of half an hour between sessions.

What level of surfing do I need to have to visit Lanzarote?
Lanzarote is ideal for all levels. If you are a beginner, our classes are designed to guide you step by step. And if you already have experience, you will find waves to improve your style and enjoy a wide variety of spots to surf on your own.
Can we rent surf equipment?
Of course! We offer surf equipment rental from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. You only need to leave your passport or ID as a guarantee. If you want to use the equipment after your lessons, just let us know and you can enjoy it until the end of the day.
Can I rent only the material without taking lessons?
Yes, we offer rental of soft boards for beginners, Surf Canarias boards, Nsp, and other advanced boards of many models of the Dreammachine brand, as well as wetsuits of all sizes. If you prefer to surf the waves at your own pace, we have what you need.
What time is check in and checkout?
You can enter the house from 12.00h and you will have to leave your room free at 10.00am, you can stay in the house enjoying the common areas until the time of departure of your flight, no matter if the flight is at 23.00h you can use the house without paying anything else.
Can I stay at the surf house with my children?
Our camp is specialized in adults and that’s how we promote ourselves, so it will be annoying for other customers to see children inside the surf houses, but we have some beautiful private apartments to enjoy with the family, then in the classes they can join without any inconvenience.
Is it possible to have parties in the house?
No, but being in a nature reserve the neighbors are accustomed to an extraordinary silence and it is something that is highly valued in Famara, so please do not make noise after 23.00h.
Is there cleanliness inside the surf houses?
Yes, the common areas of the houses are cleaned every day of the year, without exception.

Are the surf camp and school open all year round?
Yes, you can come any day of the year looking for the best flight offer and start lessons the next day. The only day of the year that we don’t give lessons is January 1st, free day for the instructors but you can rent equipment and surf on your own.
Is there a minimum stay required to stay at the surf house?
Yes, the minimum would be the pack of 3 nights plus 2 days of classes, although if you can only come for 2 nights you can also come, with the same price as the minimum pack.
Can I stay at the surf house without surf lessons?
To stay in our surf houses you will have to hire surf lessons or the free surf pack with surf equipment rental included.
Can I arrive at the camp at any time I want?
Yes, but our reception will be open every day from 8.30 am to 8.00 pm, outside these hours you will have a supplement of 18€.
How do I get to Famara from the airport?
Very easy, bus, cab or rental car, when we send you the booking confirmation we will explain exactly each method of transport and different recommendations, as well as the recommended car rental company.
Is there a pharmacy or health center in the town?
The nearest pharmacy and health center is about 15km away, if you need any medicine we recommend you to bring it from home because there is no pharmacy in Lanzarote airport either, you will find one on the way to Famara, on the main road of the village of San
Bartolomé.
I want to make a reservation, how do I do it?
If you have everything clear the easiest way is through the web and if not, our reservations department is open every day from 8.30 to 22.30 uninterruptedly, you can contact by email, whatsapp or phone.
Is there a washing machine in the surf houses?
Yes, but it is for the exclusive use of the cleaning girls. If you want to put a washing machine, talk to them or ask at the school reception. There is a cost of 5€ for each washing machine.
Why visit Lanzarote Surf?
Lanzarote Surf is in the Canary Islands, specifically in the Natural Reserve of Famara. It is a paradisiacal place and perfect for the development of outdoor activities with the best weather conditions in Europe (between 20 and 25 ° C in winter) which allows us to offer our facilities and conduct courses and camps throughout the year, for young children in summer and for adults during the winter.
Where do the children stay?
For all those children coming from outside the island we offer accommodation during the whole month of July in our amazing Surf House just 100 meters from Famara Beach.
Boys and girls sleep separately, with everything necessary for them to feel at home.
Coexistence is a fundamental value to train our young people and we try to instill these principles in our students.

What training do the monitors have?
The surf instructors are certified by the British Surfing Association and the Spanish Surfing Federation, the kitesurf instructors are certified by the Federazione Kite Italiana and the diving instructors are certified by the British Sub Aqua Club. In addition, all our instructors are certified lifeguards. During our courses we alternate the activities between English and Spanish, this way the children can learn languages by practicing them while enjoying our fantastic activities.
What are the meals like and are they included?
All meals are included in the camp option with accommodation. It includes breakfasts, snacks and dinners by an authorized catering company in Lanzarote and lunches are organized by the school; (hot sandwiches of large bread with salad, meat, fish, omelette…). Every day a different menu. In the option without accommodation, we offer our mid-morning lunch: Hot large sandwiches and fruit juice to take on the beach between sports sessions.
What if my child has an intolerance?
Our caterer can modify the menu and adapt it to the needs of the children. We offer special diets for an additional 60€ per week of camp.
Why take my children to summer camp?
A summer camp for kids is a great opportunity for children to have fun. However, it is also an opportunity for them to continue learning, bonding and acquiring skills. Everything that an activity of this type offers them, and it will also allow them to learn values such as responsibility, teamwork and autonomy.
What benefits do children and adolescents get from participating in our activities? First of all, being surrounded by nature brings great benefits to children’s mental and physical health. But also, while exploring the paradisiacal surroundings and discovering new experiences, their individual growth increases.

Learning English: there is no better way to learn English than combining learning with recreational activities. This year you have a golden opportunity for your children to learn English in a very effective way. Our bilingual monitors integrate this language, almost without the participants realizing it, when doing the various sports or recreational activities of the camp.
Discover an exciting sport: they can live within the nature reserve the passion of hiking while walking around Famara with the sun and the wind as allies. They will also hike the important Famara-Caleta de Caballo route, visiting the volcanic formations of the area and contemplating the wonderful views of the Chinijo archipelago and its islets.
Water sports: Our monitors will teach small groups of children and teenagers the sports that are the protagonists of a beach camp. Among them, surfing, windsurfing, canoeing, SUP, kayaking and others.
Activities for teenagers: For teenagers there is a world of activities with a little more excitement. For example, there are kating competitions, scuba diving, workshops, yoga classes and all the water sports you can imagine.
Animation and farewell party: Children enjoy surprises throughout the camp. And for the farewell, a party is organized to remember the best of everything they did during the week.
From what age can I take my children to camp?
The summer camp with accommodation is available for children between 13 and 17 years old. We also have an option without accommodation, with surf lessons in the mornings, for children from 8 years old.
In which languages is the camp offered?
During our courses we alternate the activities between English and Spanish, this way the children can learn languages by practicing them while enjoying our fantastic activities.
If I sign my children up for the morning camp (without accommodation), what do they do on the days of visits and water park?
On days when activities take place outside the camp, monitors will stay on the beach with the children from the morning camp to carry out their own activities without any interruption or changes.
Can I stay even if I am not taking a course?
If you want to enjoy a family vacation we have for you private luxury apartments at very low prices. You can book private apartments, penthouses, studios and bungalows from 60 Euros per night. In our hostel you will find apartments for couples only or multi-family apartments with up to 3 bedrooms.
Each of them is fully furnished and equipped with everything you need to spend a dream vacation. Each accommodation has kitchens equipped with all the complements of crockery, refrigerator and microwave. They have private and complete bathroom, TV.
The accommodation includes free transportation to the beach of Famara. All this at incredibly low prices so you can enjoy your dream vacation without having to worry about high costs.

What documents do I need to bring?

Who controls my children at camp?
We have qualified instructors in free time with many years of experience who will accompany them at all times, except when they are in the surf lessons, which will be the qualified instructors in surfing who will be in charge of them. Your children will be supervised 24 hours a day by monitors, with a system of internal rules which they must comply with.
My child has to fly, can he/she go alone on the plane?
Something that often worries parents is the issue of the flight and letting your child come alone. The airlines offer a service called “unaccompanied minor”, we recommend you to take a look at it for your peace of mind.

How do I get from the airport to the school?
Several monitors will be in charge of organizing departures and arrivals at the airport. A monitor will wait in the arrivals area for the flight attendant who will hand over the child. In order for the children to travel alone, you will have to contract a service with the airline so that they are accompanied and safe at all times. In order for us to pick them up at the airport, you must send us the corresponding authorization for the flight attendant to deliver the child to the monitor.

What activities will my children do?

Surf school: learn to surf with qualified instructors who can measure your progress by customizing your training. Whether you opt for a beginner, intermediate or advanced course, in one week of camp, you could be mastering one of the most exciting sports you’ve ever tried.
Diving: Europe’s largest marine reserve is located in Lanzarote, making it one of the best places on the entire continent to learn scuba diving. You can discover the largest reserve of biodiversity in the Canary Islands diving near thousands of endemic species in an indescribable experience.
Challenging water activities: including surfing, canoeing, kayaking, sup, windsurfing and other variants. The coast of the island’s capital provides the ideal environment for water activities that will test your endurance. These sports activities combine physical performance with fun in an unbeatable way. Of course, you will receive the proper training to do it safely.
What is the check-in and check-out time for children who come with accommodation option?
Sunday is always a day of arrivals and departures. Children can come at any time. We pick them up at the airport in the same way. On the last Sunday the departure is before 12.00pm in order to leave the house free and proceed with the cleaning before the next occupancy or shift.
What happens if my child needs to arrive early or leave late for camp because of flights?
Sometimes, due to flight issues, parents ask us to allow the child to arrive on a Monday or Tuesday. No problem, the child is accepted without problems and we will go to pick him/her up at the airport, but the departure remains on Sunday and the price of the camp also remains intact plus an additional 40€ for transportation and pick up at the airport.
If on the other hand a child wants to leave on the following Monday or Tuesday, even if he/she only comes for one week, he/she will have to pay for 2 weeks of camp because for us that place remains unsold. In addition to the additional 40 € transfer back to the airport. Whenever there is a transfer that is not on Sunday, you pay 40€ each way.
How many places are there for the children's camp option with accommodation?
We have only 15 places per week for the accommodation option because we prioritize quality and attention in the service to children and families who choose to trust us to offer an optimal camp experience.
What is included in the Surf House accommodation?
The accommodation is composed of different areas, the bedrooms, the kitchen, the relaxation areas and the terrace. You have access to all these areas during the time established for each course.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary crockery and cutlery. It has a large kitchen with four burners, microwave and refrigerator, also has a barbecue area.
In one of the relaxation areas you can enjoy an LCD TV if you feel like watching a movie. Although with the beautiful views that you can enjoy around you will not have time to watch the T.V.
Finally, the accommodation includes transfers from the Surf House to where each activity of the course will take place. Remember that during the course the school will provide you with all the material or equipment you need for the course.
What if I bring a companion who is not going to participate in the course?
If your companion will not participate in the course you will have to pay 20 euros per night. This amount includes accommodation and transfer to the beach. However, this amount will have to be paid for each night of your stay at the Surf House.
